Identifying and providing for mathematically promising students (Vic Association for Gifted and Talented Children)

Identification and provision for mathematically promising students can be a challenge for all involved, and there is some debate about which should come first – identification or programming. In this workshop participants learned the definition of mathematical promise, contemplated the possible goals of mathematical talent development, and explored the multiple tools and approaches available for identification of high mathematical potential. A range of different strategies for mathematical talent development were also shared.
