You have probably noticed that Prime Number, the primary Journal of the MAV has a new format and we are seeking contributions from all readers to ensure a vibrant and relevant journal for mathematics educators throughout Victoria and beyond, to enjoy.

New to Prime Number is the ‘letters to the editor’ column. The Editorial Board would appreciate your views on any issues related to mathematics education for publication in the journal and to spark further discussion.

The new format includes regular columns for sharing aspects of your practice and research. These are:

• ‘Teachers’ Talk’
• ‘This Works for Me’;
• ‘Lesson Starters’ and
• the ‘Fun Maths Puzzles’ on the back page

All that is needed for these columns is a short description of an activity that you recommend, a resource that you have found useful, a situation that sparked an interesting discussion for your students (Teachers’ Talk), an idea that you have or one that appeals to you, or a problem or puzzle you would like to share. These columns are envisaged as a collection of your short contributions in each issue.

There are now Featured Articles in each issue and we would like to consider contributing more extended articles about work that you are doing in mathematics

The colourful centre spread that is now awaiting your ideas and suggestions for the most effective ways to use this very visually appealing space.

The editorial board of Prime Number would welcome any teachers who are interested in joining in on the management of the journal. The board meets several times a year on the basis of needs.

I would love to hear from you with contributions to the journal or offers of assistance to the editorial board. Interested readers are invited to take on the management of any of the columns that are of particular interest to them.
