Mental Computation: A Strategies Approach

The Tasmanian Education Department has produced a wonderful collection of seven booklets (each about 50 pages) with the general title 'Mental Computation: A Strategies Approach'.  The authors are Alistair McIntosh and Shelley Dole.  The MAV has reviewed it and considers it to be a valuable resource.

The resource booklet consists of:

Basic facts addition and subtraction

Basic facts multiplication and division

Module 4

Two-digit whole numbers

Module 5

Fractions and decimals

Module 6

Ratio and percent

In an attractive two-ring binder, the books provide a carefully researched and detailed set of sequenced activities for developing mental computation from VELS Standard 1 to 5 and contain 58 reproducible worksheets.
