 What is the MAV?
The Mathematical Association of Victoria is a membership-driven Association that provides a voice, leadership and professional support for mathematical education. Through our programs and services we aim to promote mathematics, mathematics education, and its importance to society. Our Association has over 1,700 members from all sectors of education and has been an active non-profit professional Association for nearly 100 years.

Please note that our membership period is from January to December. Renewals for the following year are sent out in early October each year and you can renew until 31 March before we cease to send you membership benefits.

Who can be a member?
- All mathematics teachers or those qualified in mathematics and/or education
- Institutions teaching mathematics
- Any person studying mathematics or education as part of a full-time or part-time course at a tertiary teaching institution
- Any person who is unqualified, or represents a publisher or other group with some connection to the teaching of mathematics or mathematics teaching (Associate membership)

Student Membership / Special Graduating Teacher Offer:
Student membership is open to any person studying mathematics or education at a tertiary institution as part of either a full time or part time course. Membership entitlements include copies of the MAV newsletter Common Denominator, access to the MAV's electronic MAVlist e-news, and a quarterly journal relevant to membership level- Prime Number (Primary) or Vinculum (Post-Primary), along with member rates and discounts on professional development activities and resources. As a special offer the MAV will honour the special prices quoted below for 2008 membership for students graduating as teachers at the end of 2007.
