The Mathematical Association of Victoria has developed a formal response to the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority through a series of consultation mechanisms, namely; two formal meetings of the MAV Council, a special members consultation forum held on Friday, 9 July 2010 attended by twenty five senior experienced mathematics teachers from across Victoria and an interactive consultation portal on the MAV web site advertised to 11,500 subscribers to the Association’s e-mail newsletter on four occasions. The responses from all of these sources have been collated by a leadership group appointed by the MAV Council. This group was made up by Councillors Allason McNamara and David Tout and two Heads of Mathematics, Robyn Crockett and Phillip Swedosh.
