Teaching English and Mathematics in the Australian Curriculum
Friday 23 March, 9.00am–3.30pm
This conference provides an opportunity for primary school teachers to develop an understanding of the Australian Curriculum. Workshops will specifically focus on the implementation of the Australian Curriculum in both Mathematics and English, and a range of teaching and learning ideas along with relevant classroom resources will be explored.

Professional Learning P-10 2012 Term One and Two
The MAV will be running a range of professional learning events in Terms One and Two:
- Assessment in the early years
- Working mathematically in the Australian Curriculum: Number and algebra
- Maths Talent Quest: promoting MTQ in your school
- Maths300 and differentiation in the Australian Curriculum
- Understanding algebra in the middle years
- Teach maths for understanding
- CAS calculators in Year 9 and 10

Could your school host an MAV event?
The MAV offers professional development workshops and seminars in schools around Victoria. The professional development team are looking to add new metro and regional venues in 2012. In return for supplying the venue, hosting schools are able to send their teachers to the professional development workshop free of charge. Schools need to have clean spaces suitable for seating at least 50 people, reliable audio visual equipment, a reasonable breakout space for lunch and a kitchenette (or similar space for food preparation).
